It's been a few months since my last entry here, but I've been busy with volunteering, tending to my plants and animals, writing music, and working on various other creative projects. I have not been painting lately. I was ashamed about this for some time, and avoided my blog, but I have decided to let it go, and acknowledge that my creativity wanders. It always has, and there's not much I can do but follow my inspiration. Right now, that's with my other pursuits. I'll have more paintings to share later.
For now, though, I'd like to announce that I am again participating in Walk and Wag, the largest annual fundraiser for the shelter where I volunteer. Being our largest event, this makes it vital to keeping the lights on, and the doors open. It's the event that makes the biggest difference in our ability to carry out our mission in improving the lives of homeless animals, and helping them find their forever families. Personally, I can't stress enough how important this is to me. The first dog I ever adopted came from HSHV, and he helped me through my life's biggest transitions. I volunteer to honor his memory, and have since found new furry companions there, too. Being part of the team at the Humane Society of Huron Valley is one of the cornerstones of my life, and I'm grateful that I live near a shelter of which I can be proud. Did you know that we adopted out over 5,000 animals last year?
If you'd like to be part of our community of support, I would be incredibly grateful. It brings me a lot of joy seeing the people in my life invest in our mission, since it's one so dear to me. You can donate by following the link:
